Meal options include goat, chicken, turkey, fish, legume, and griot (marinated pork chunks) with your choice of side (rice, plantain, salad, or pikliz), or try a savory patty stuffed with chicken, beef, codfish, or herring. For something sweet there's no shortage of homemade goodies in La Citadelle's display case, including cakes, doughnuts, cookies, croissants, and specialty pastries such as peanuts praline, strawberry shortcake, and pineapple upside down cake. Also a small market, they sell a variety of imported goods for making your own Haitian dishes at home, as well as freshly baked breads and rolls. Take-our orders can be called in ahead of time and every day features a different special, so whether planning ahead or just dropping in, La Citadelle Bakery is sure to have something that will tantalize your taste buds or inspire your inner chef.
